Wicklow: A premises in County Wicklow is under lockdown after bird flu was confirmed at a poultry farm. This is the second confirmed discovery in the region in recent days. A find was also recorded in Sutton, County Dublin, last week.
Bird flu in Wicklow was found in a small flock of mixed species of birds. Poultry owners have been warned to be vigilant if symptoms appear, but no new restrictions have been imposed.
Other flocks within 3 km of the latest bird flu outbreak will be assessed in the coming days. Bird flu caused by the H5N1 strain has been seen among wild and seabirds in recent weeks.
