Donegal, May 30, 2025 — A woman in her 70s has tragically died following a two-vehicle road traffic collision in County Donegal on Friday evening.
The incident occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m. on the R245 at Bunlin Bridge, Milford, and involved a car and a van. Emergency services and Gardaà responded promptly to the scene.
The female driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. Her body has been transferred to Letterkenny University Hospital, where a post-mortem examination will be conducted.
The driver of the van, a man in his 50s, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was also taken to Letterkenny University Hospital for treatment. No other injuries have been reported in connection with the incident.
The R245 remains closed as Garda Forensic Collision Investigators carry out a detailed examination of the scene. Local diversions have been put in place.
In an official statement, Gardaà have appealed to the public for information:
“Gardaà are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision on the R245 at Bunlin Bridge, Milford, Co. Donegal, on the evening of Friday, May 30, 2025.”
Authorities are particularly seeking dashcam or other camera footage from road users who were in the area between 7:15 p.m. and 7:45 p.m.
