Serbia: European country Serbia has ended visa-free entry for Indians. Accordingly, from January 1, 2023, Indian passport holders will not be able to enter Serbia without a visa.
Serbia has decided to ban visa-free entry of Indian citizens in accordance with the restrictions in the common visa policy of European countries. Apart from this, control of illegal immigrants is also the main factor behind this decision. The Indian Embassy in Serbian capital Belgrade has issued an instruction in this regard.
"From January 1, 2023, all Indian nationals visiting Serbia will require a visa. The Government of Serbia has withdrawn the visa-free stay of Indian passport holders in Serbia for up to 30 days. Therefore, Indian nationals intending to visit Serbia on or after January 1, 2023, should apply at the Embassy of Serbia in New Delhi or the Embassy of Serbia in the applicant's country of residence,' said a statement issued by the Indian Embassy.
Earlier, holders of diplomatic and official Indian passports were allowed to visit the country for 90 days without a visa. But for normal passport holders it was 30 days. Serbia has announced that it will withdraw it. Serbia started visa-free entry in September 2017.
Meanwhile, Indians holding a valid UK, US or Schengen visa can enter Serbia without a visa for 90 days. Apart from India, Serbia also suspended visa-free entry for citizens of Guinea-Bissau, Tunisia and Burundi.
