New Delhi: The central government has made a Covid-negative certificate mandatory for those coming from six countries with severe covid-19.
The central government has decided to make RTPCR certificate mandatory for those coming from China, South Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong and Japan from January 1.
Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandavya also informed that passengers should register on the Air Suvidha portal before departure. The central government's move came after a significant increase in the number of Covid cases in these countries. In two days, 6000 international travelers were tested at the airports and 39 people were diagnosed with the disease. In January, health department officials had warned that the next 40 days would be crucial for India as the number of Covid-19 cases was increasing.
There is previous experience of covid spreading in India within 30-35 days after it spread in East Asia. At the same time, the authorities stated that the severity of the Covid infection is very low and even if there is a wave, the death and hospital stay will be less. It has been decided to check two percent of the international passengers
