INDIA: Heart filled with love, Jodo Yatra is over, what next? In a sense, Rahul Gandhi saw a different India

Srinagar: Bharat Jodo Yatra is over. The Bharat Jodo Yatra started from Kanyakumari on September 7 to equal derision and blessings. Through this journey, which covered 4080 km in 136 days, Rahul Gandhi was in a sense seeing a different India that he had never seen before.

What is the relevance of Bharat Jodo Yatra? He is the young leader who led the party from the Gandhi family, who held the power of the party in their palm for many years, to democracy.

The Bharat Jodo Yatra was a strange transition from a leader who was ridiculed by his political opponents as an immature leader who vacationed in foreign countries when there was a terrorist attack on the Taj Hotel and when the whole of North India was affected by floods, to a mature leader who has touched and seen the India he had never seen before.

After Mahatma Gandhi, perhaps eighty decades later, Rahul Gandhi, who has lived in a different political and social environment throughout India, is learning from the people and teaching the people. Fascist regimes have a common characteristic. They will try to keep their political opponents away from the people.

On the way, Rahul Gandhi said that he is the one who has come to open the market of love in the market of hate. Rahul told the people that what he is looking for is not power or rule but the union of hearts. The very existence of the great nation of India is inherent in this combination.

After 2014, Indian politics has turned upside down and soulless and superficial image building through multi-crore public relations gimmicks has become the main agenda of politics. In Thiruvananthapuram and Delhi, the leaders who were burnt down in this way started taking the reins of power.

Through this process of image building, they learned that the masses are an easy class to deceive. It was then that a man walked from Kanyakumari to Kashmir in sun, rain and wood-carrying cold, completely canceling such constructions.

Kamal Haasan has rallied with Rahul with the support of Mutan Raghuram Rajan for a new, a new India. It is by dreaming that this journey will be the beginning of political morality. Millions of people in India are also dreaming of those dreams.

There is no doubt that Rahul has succeeded in upholding the new politics of non-violence and reconciliation in place of violent and sectarian politics. The next Lok Sabha elections are just fifteen months away.

It is believed that the Sangh Parivar will go to any lengths to keep Modi as the Prime Minister for the third term. Preventing it is a herculean effort. If Rahul acquired the confidence and strength from this journey, it is certain that Indian politics will move in new directions.
