Delhi: India has become the third largest automobile market in the world.
According to reports released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers, around 4.13 million new vehicles were delivered in India from January to November 2022. Maruti Suzuki's total sales during this period reached 4.25 million units.
Meanwhile, Tata Motors and other automakers have not released their year-end results. Only the figures for the third quarter of the country's commercial vehicle companies are currently available.
However, with the release of the figures for the fourth quarter, the number of vehicle sales in India is likely to rise further. Meanwhile, Japan, the all-time leader in the auto market, sold only 4,201,321 vehicles last year. Compared to 2021 sales, 2022 recorded a decline of 5.6 percent.
