ODISHA: Odisha Health Minister Naba Kishore Das, who was under treatment after being shot by a policeman, died.

Bhubaneswar: Health Minister Naba Kishore Das died when he was shot by a police officer while he was going to inaugurate the party office in Brajraj Nagar of Jharsuguda district in Odisha. The minister was attacked while the crowd was watching. ASI Gopal Das, who fired, has been arrested.

The attack took place while getting out of the car for the inauguration. Nabadas is a prominent figure in Naveen Patnaik's cabinet. He was shot when he came to inaugurate the office of BJD in Bhrajarajnagar. He was shot twice in the chest and Naba Kishore immediately collapsed.

The incident happened around 12.30 pm while participating in the program. A police officer shot at him while he was getting out of his car to inaugurate the new party office. The shot was fired by ASI Gopal Chandra Das. It is reported that two bullets were lodged in the chest. He is now in police custody. The district police chief said that the suspect fired from close range using an official revolver
