New Delhi: Air Suvidha Registration and Covid negative certificate are mandatory from today for travelers from 6 high-risk countries as part of increased vigilance against covid.
In the tests conducted on 2% of the international passengers, 53 people have been confirmed to have covid so far. The requirement applies to those coming from China, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand and South Korea.
Meanwhile, the first case of Omicron variant 'XXB.1.5', which caused a surge in Covid cases in New York, was also reported in India. The first case was confirmed in Gujarat. According to data published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Friday, 41% of the reported cases of Covid-19 in the United States are 'XXB.1.5'.
Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister PK Mishra convened a high-level meeting. The meeting assessed whether the decisions of the meeting called by the Prime Minister on December 22 were implemented.
