Delhi: Central Election Commission will announce elections in three states next month. Elections have been announced in the states of Tripura, Meghalaya and Nagaland. Elections in Tripura on February 16. Nagaland and Meghalaya will go to polls on February 27. The Election Commission announced in a press conference that the counting of votes in all the three places will be held on March 2.
The dates were announced by Chief Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar at a press conference held at Akashvani Bhawan in Delhi. 300 polling stations will be fully under the control of women. Infrastructure will be provided at all polling stations. The commission is thinking about setting up a permanent system without setting up temporary facilities. Provide facilities such as drinking water and toilets for continued use by schools and others. Necessary facilities will also be provided for differently abled persons.
The Election Commission also announced that the preparations for the elections in Kashmir have been completed. There are 9125 polling booths in three locations. There are 62.8 lakh voters in three states. Out of this 31.47 lakh voters are women
Meanwhile, Tripura has a 60-member assembly. All twenty are dominated by tribals. In the 2018 elections, BJP won 33 seats, Indigenous People's Front of Tripura (IPFT) four seats, Communist Party of India (M) 15 seats and Congress one seat. Six seats are vacant. BJP came to power in Tripura in 2018 after 25 years of Left rule. Manik Saha is currently the Chief Minister. BJP is trying to keep the IPFT with it and continue the rule. The Congress and the Left, who were fierce enemies, will unite against the BJP this time. CPM BJP power show will be held in Tripura.
