IRELAND: Man stabbed to death in Finglas; 2 people were arrested

Finglas: Brian Hogan, 39, was stabbed to death in Finglas, Dublin last night. It is believed by gardaí that there was an argument in the house and he arrived in the garden. A woman was also injured.

The body of the youth has been removed from the spot for post-mortem. Mr.Hogan was found seriously injured in the front garden of a house in Collins Place, Finglas, just after 7pm yesterday. Paramedics administered first aid but he died.

Gardai are examining the scene at Collins Place and the area around the house and garden has been cordoned off for forensic examination. Officers from Finglas Garda Station are carrying out house-to-house inquiries after launching an investigation into the murder. The killing may be related to a drug dispute. Two men in their 30s are being held at Finglas and Blanchardstown garda stations in connection with the incident.

A Senior Investigating Officer has been appointed and a Garda Family Liaison Officer is in contact with Hogan's family. Gardaí are appealing for anyone with further information on the incident to get in touch. They are asked to contact 01-6667500, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.

They are specifically appealing for anyone who was near the Collins Place and Ballygall Road West area between 6-7:30pm to contact them. At that time they are asking anyone who has video footage (including dash-cam) from these locations to make it available.
