Those who have not yet renewed their annual registration with the Nursing Board of Ireland should do so as soon as possible before February 14. NMBI informed that those who have not completed the process should register immediately. Student nurses and midwives do not need to renew their registration.
All nurses and midwives practicing in Ireland must be registered on the NMBI's Register of Nurses and Midwives. And their registration must be renewed every year to maintain it.
To manually remove your name from the register
If the annual renewal is not completed by Tuesday, February 14, 2023, NMBI is legally obligated to include your name on the list of registrants the Board is considering for removal. If you wish to voluntarily remove your name from the Register of Nurses and Midwives (for example taking a career break or retiring), you can do so at MyNMBI. The service is free and the deadline for voluntary removal is Tuesday 14 February 2023.
Registration can be restored
If you choose to return at a later stage, you can restore your registration on MyNMBI by selecting the 'Restoration' option. On renewal, you will have to pay only the renewal fee and no reinstatement fee.
Renewal of Registration
Renewing your registration is easy and only takes a few minutes to complete. This should be completed through the online portal MyNMBI.
An annual fee of €100 is payable to renew your registration.
You can login to MyNMBI using the email address from which the notification was sent and your password. If you can't remember your password, follow the steps to reset your password using the Forgot Password button. Please do not create a new account or you will not be able to access your details.
If you are logging into MyNMBI for the first time, please refer to your renewal notice and the first-time login user guide.
To complete the process, you will need:

It aims to develop standards and guidelines for nurses and midwives, evaluate and approve educational programs for the professions, and investigate complaints against registrants.
