On Thursday, a major fire that raged for more than 12 hours in a Cambodian hotel casino resulted in at least 19 fatalities and injured about 50.Sek Sokhom, the chief of the information department for the province of Banteay Meanchey, stated that the death toll was anticipated to climb because some victims were thought to still be under debris or in closed rooms that rescue crews could not access.
People were seen falling from a roof in social media videos taken at the Grand Diamond City casino and hotel in the border town of Poipet after becoming trapped by the fire. Both clients and employees were largely from the nearby Thai country.

Onlookers could be heard shouting requests to rescue individuals stranded on the roof of the hotel complex, which is more than a dozen floors tall at its tallest point, in a video provided by Cambodia's firefighting service. As the flames climbed to the roof, at least one individual was seen falling from the footage.
Oh, kindly aid in their rescue. The crowd yelled, "Pump water... pump water."
Calls for assistance were heard from the 13th, 14th, and 15th floors at 4 am, and hands were seen waving from windows and a mobile phone's flashlight signalling from inside the complex, according to a post by the Department of Fire Prevention, Extinguishing, and Rescue.
According to Sek Sokhom, chief of the information department at Banteay Meanchey, the fire, which began about midnight on Wednesday, was ultimately extinguished around 2 pm on Thursday. A nearby Buddhist temple, he claimed, was getting ready to receive the deceased.
Ngor Meng Chroun, the deputy governor of the province, informed Bayon Radio in Cambodia that 19 people had died and 60 had been injured. As more bodies of those trapped within were found, the number of fatalities appeared to be increasing as critically injured people died from their wounds.
